I'm LaVantae Johnson, known to most as TheCableGuy. I'm a Las Vegas director, director of photography, editor and photographer who makes music videos, commercials and brand content that look like cinema and connect like a conversation.
My work has put me on sets alongside Foot Locker, Nike, Jordan, Adidas, McDonald's, Snipes, the Detroit Pistons and Leader Quality, and behind the camera for artists including Siz, Vic Smith, Miles Low and Nate Weez. A national brand activation and an independent artist's breakout video get the same standard from me: deliberate framing, motivated light and an edit with rhythm.
I shoot, cut and color my own work, so nothing gets lost between departments. The person who plans the shot is the one who finishes it in the grade. What we agree on in pre-production is what you see on screen, with fewer hand-offs and a final piece that feels like one vision.
